Process
The clay I used is recycle from the Ceramic Room student last project which is B-Mix Cone 5 clay (Medium Fired). I have to wedge the clay so consistency is even out and there is no air bubble for throwing. Throwing was a difficult task because of the size and changing the shape can cause the project to wobble so I take my time on creating the perfect shape. The shape is simple yet can still create a plaster mold to create into mass manufacture. After throwing and the clay is bone dry, the vase need to get bisque which later on can be glazed to be finish.
Glazing
As for choosing the glaze, I went with the underglazes to create the gradience and brightness to the piece. The glazing technique I tried was spraying with the toothbrush to create sprinkle gradience. For the future, I would use a spraying machine to create more evenness to the piece.
Final Product
I enjoy the process of learning how to throw and be able to create beautiful piece that people can enjoy. I believe that products need to have some color because it create more personality to home. Most of products these day does not have much colors so I wanted to create something new to a home that everyone can enjoy.
